Joining APOMA


If your company is interested in joining our worldwide community by becoming an APOMA member, please read over the terms and requirements listed below. Then, if you decide to join, simply click on the "ONLINE APPLICATION" link on the left, which will take you to our official information input form.

Just fill in the information requested, and we will generate the application form for you. Print out the form from your computer and mail it along with a check to cover your first year membership fee (see sidebar), to the address on the form. If you have any questions regarding membership, payment terms, or need help in completing the form, don't hesitate to contact us. We thank you for your interest in APOMA and look forward to having you as a member!

Membership is for the calendar year. Corporate members have one vote, which is cast by their designated representative. Associate and Academic members do not vote, but may offer proposals for consideration and may voice their opinion on all matters before APOMA.

CORPORATE: Companies manufacturing optical components or devices in the US, Canada and Mexico (Latin America), must join as Corporate Members. Membership is by unit/ division of a company. Dues are based on the number of people in the optics manufacturing department of that unit/division.See chart in Sidebar on the left. Membership in APOMA is open to individual units/ divisions of a company.

ASSOCIATE: Companies that supply to or purchase from optics manufacturers. Membership is $250.

AFFILIATE: Non-North American Companies that manufacture, supply or purchase optical products. Membership is $1200.

ACADEMIC: Accredited organizations that engage in research, education or activities benefiting the optical industry. Free membership is limited to those involved in domestic optics.

Benefits of Membership

Becoming an APOMA member carries with it several benefits to both individuals and companies. Some of them are listed below.

  • Attend APOMA Meetings held during the two biggest SPIE National conventions each year.
  • Network with peer APOMA members involved in all phases of Optics Manufacturing
  • Have your business or company specialties listed on the APOMA.ORG web site for the world to see, with contact information and a direct link to your company's web site.
